LJ & GR Price & Family, Karatta Pastoral, Robe SA
For Limestone Coast woolgrowers, Lindsay and Gary price ‘knowing where all your hard work ends up’ is a very good feeling indeed.
Lindsay and Gary are 3rd generation farmers and have been on the family farm for over 35 years. The Price family purchased their first property at Paskeville on the Yorke Peninsula in 1936 and since then have taken on property at Cadgee and Robe in the beautiful LImestone Coast region of South Australia.
Running around 2500 merino ewes and 2500 crossbred ewes, the Price family said they love being woolgrowers because “there’s nothing better than watching merino ewes produce a nice handling, bright white wool every year grown in a sustainable way – it’s a good feeling.”
Q. What does it mean to you to know who is wearing your wool?
A. Knowing who is wearing our wool is a great opportunity to close the whole cycle from grass in the paddock to producing the wool, processing the wool for the end-use. It’s nice to know where all the hard work ends up.
Q. What would you like to say to the person wearing your wool?
A. On behalf of Karatta Pastoral, I would like to thank you for buying South Australian! It is great to have your support for our business and I hope the product you have purchased serves you well. Thank you.
